Following our encounter with cows a couple of days ago, we visited a local reservoir at the edge of the village. With no dogs in tow we were able to sit at the edge (or, in the case of @shepherdmanswife, lie at the edge – perspective is everything) watching the wildlife and enjoying the tranquillity. A small group of loudly honking swans did a low level flypast, and landed dramatically, water spraying up behind them. Unfortunately the aquatic runway was on the far side of the water, too far away for either of us to capture the moment.
