The final leg of my cycle route to work takes me through the campus of De Montfort University, from where I took this photograph, using my little Lumix, looking through the Castle gateway to St Mary De Castro church tower, illuminated by early morning winter sunshine. Until a couple of years ago this church had a magnificent spire, towering above the City centre, but it was found to be structurally unsafe and had to be dismantled, leaving the tower at the base. There is an ongoing appeal to raise money to re-build the tower.
It looks beautiful bathed in the golden sunlight and I love the POV.

Lovely scene looks like a nice quiet commute route, considering the time you are cycling this way

Gorgeous shot. The richness of the colours and the perspective really make it work.

Just at the right time of day - a few minutes later and this beautiful tower would be dark!

Beautiful light, and I like how empty it is, which gives the photo special atmosphere.

Very well framed.

Love that golden glow! I'd want the spire rebuilt, too.
