Wild thing

After yesterdays domesticated variety, these are wild thistles. Whereas the thistley Eryngium of yesterdays image existed purely for decorative purposes, these thuggy versions have only one thing in mind. Breeding. And breeding is what they do, spreading downy seeds across the countryside, and in the case of this particular clump, a westerly breeze will carry at least some of the seeds up the lane and into our garden.
Rugged. Nicely backlit.

Powerful shot, I like the touch of green there.
