Walking home from our evening dog walk a day or so ago, the adjacent hedgerow was backlit by the low sunshine, the top of the hedge glowing gold, leaving our side of the hedge, still twiggy and leafless, in shadow. We came across a gap in the hedge, the sunset streaming through to illuminate a shrub which had taken advantage of the opening to thrive, producing these early spring catkins,
As a child, I always thought these were little lambs tails hanging on the trees. This is beautifully photographed with the backlighting giving such a golden glow. Fav.
