Another shot from The Dam, the wildlife pond close to my sister's home. On the first day of our break in Yorkshire 14 chicks were happily propelling themselves around the pond, like model motor boats, with harrassed parent trying to keep them together. When we left there were just 7 chicks that we could see. Which is precisely why Mum hatched so many eggs in the first place.
