National Slate Museum

One of the many belt and pulley systems in the buildings of the Dinorwig Slate Quarry, now reinstated as they were in Victorian times, when the quarry was in full production. The belts and pulleys were driven from a giant water wheel, a propshaft feeding power through the buidlings. A fascinating day out during a stay in Wales, The heavy rain doing its best to soak us as we passed between the various buildings gave a ttraditional Welsh atmosphere to the tour,

The processing certainly takes away the rough edges. This is an interesting subject and I like the lines - in the ladders, the walls and the spokes.
