We were exploring some open gardens in Wales when we met two walkers coming through a gate onto the drive leading to the gardens. Seeing @shepherdmanswife 's camera and lens they recommended a detour along a footpath leading over fields before disappearing over a ridge, from where, they said, there was a view across a lake to a panorama of hills. We thought they must mean Lake Bala, visible from several viewpoints around the gardens, but in fact it was a smaller hidden lake, with gentle grassy slopes on "our " shore, perfect for Tia to have a paddle, which disturbed a pair of Canada Geese, and with steeper hills rising on the far side. A hidden gem.
