On a hot day we followed the Cornish Coastal path up onto the cliifs to Willapark Coastwatch Station, from where this was taken. I was surprised to learn that in the UK Coastguard no longer keep watch from the coast. Instead they are based on inland industrial estates, monitoring marine activity via radio activity. Coastwatch stations are now manned by volunteers who observe offshore activity, and call the Coastguard if required.
