We bought this "twisted willow" because the label assured us that it would give winter interest, with a nice photo of the catkins. In fact the catkins don't really develop until spring. I noticed the late afternoon sun shining through the catkins as I set off on a dog walk, and by the time that I returned the evening sun was giving the catkins a golden glow.
