The Goldfinches are getting very possessive over the niger seed feeder.
This happens quite often, or they will form an orderly queue like the one on the left, and wait for a slot to become vacant.
@steampowered mine is worse. Am taking iboprufen every four hours, but not having much effect unfortunately. Hope to be better tomorrow! Thanks for asking and glad yours is better.
Brilliant focus on all three birds, don't know how you managed that! You need to get an 18 perch feeder, we have the biggest feeder in the village! Fav, this is fab
@suesmith the goldfinches seem to be the only type of bird that we get that have a narrow enough bill to get at the niger seed through the narrow slots in the feeder. They are such pretty birds to watch, and entertaining!
Great capture, love their moves. This composition reminds me for my arguements with my sisters (I have 3) - there's always somebody who turns her back to the other girls. Anyway, it's a fav for me ;)
Great action shot Chantal and well done getting them all so well focussed. Hope your back improves soon. I really like Palmilla's analogy @palmilla about her and her sisters and can definitely relate to that (I have 4 of them!!!)
Those two are really giving each other a piece of their minds. brilliant capture, the birds and their flapping wings are so sharp, and the bokeh is perfect. Love the one on the left turning hi or her back on this unseemly behaviour. Absolutely a fav for me!
Fantastic capture. You lucky thing seeing Goldfinches. Such beautiful bird.
