Was this a wild one? I would love to get this close. Look at the fuzzy head, love all those down feathers and I love how soft the photo is. Instant FAV the second I saw it.
@rill I found him at Chester Zoo. He had a really large outside enclosure with lots of other birds. I shot him through diamond shaped mesh fencing. I think that gave the softness to the photo. They are so ugly, but so lovely at the same time!
@roachling This isn't a baby. It's a full grown adult. You can see the top of its wing bottom right in photo. I must admit his head does look chick-like!

I thought it was a chick at first, before I saw the wing because of all the lovely down. Your vultures are prettier than our Turkey Vultures. I must be the only one who thinks this bird is beautiful, lol. I want to reach through my screen and pet it!
