Oh, the poor flower.....hunkered down, putting up a brave face for the winter onslaught! It makes me think of homeless people I used to encounter in NYC all bundled up in the entry of a building trying to stay warm for the night! The details of the ice crystals crusting on the flower are amazing, and the background looks really bleak.
I really like this shot. There are a lot of these flowers in the sand dunes around here, and I've been watching them slowly give in and die, but this shot is a frozen moment in time. The colours and the light are lovely, and great detail. Def FAV
