@pamknowler yes it is difficult and as you can see my shutter speed was too low to get a clear, sharp shot but I like this as it shows the motion of it in flight
Terrific BIF! So envious you were able to photograph puffins. It's one of my dreams -- @jyokota and I are planning to do this when travel is safe again.
Indeed! Love the way in which you captured the feeling of being in flight, even though puffins look a little awkward shaped and sized to fly. @taffy and I can't wait!
@shepherdmanswife -- we initially considered Iceland but quickly abandoned that idea because it's such an expensive country and we've already spent a week there three years ago. Then we planned the UK, but when we realized travel was more limited we even considered Maine, here in the US and even contacted a few tours. I think once this pandemic is under control we will look at all our options again. All that to say, we don't have a plan yet. Do you have a recommendation?
@jyokota if you can make it to the UK I would definitely recommend the Farne Islands. You take a tour boat to the islands and get dropped off on a huge rock, no facilities at all, just Puffins and other seabirds. Just fantastic as you’re only a few feet away from them. After 2 hours they come back for you and take you to another island that has a church and visitor centre and more importantly, toilets! Here you are inches away from Gannets and Puffins. I’ve been twice and will be going again!
