This photo is from Labor Day weekend, Aug 30 to be exact, and was a gift to my daughter-in-law. I offered to do a "maternity shoot" for her, imagining that she would go along with it but be kind of reserved about it, because that's the way I would be. But that precious girl was SO excited and couldn't wait and made all kinds of plans for it - I was blown away by her response! And scared too because I'd never done anything like this before! This is one of my favorite shots from that day. My point in posting this now is that my get pushed partner challenged me this week to take a backlit portrait, and this photo is exactly what I had envisioned when she issued the challenge, even tho I didn't realize it at the time she challenged me. And of course, the sun has been so UNcooperative this week that I've had to rely on electric indoor lamps for my backlight. But I just couldn't resist posting this photo to show what I would have LOVED to have captured!
