Dh and I jumped in the car and headed to Chincoteague yesterday after my workshop on bird photography. I couldn't wait to get down there and start capturing award winning photos of flying egrets now that I had learned all the secrets and tips and tricks! The egrets, however, did not get the bulletin that I was on my way, so they were all hanging out too deep in the shade or too far away across the water. Shame on them!
But Chincoteague rarely disappoints, and hubby spotted this tree that caught his attention, so we hiked all around it to find the best shot. I think I burned my retinas taking all the shots I did. That's probably why I ended up with a screaming headache by the end of the night. We were planning to stay late and try to see some of the meteor shower, but apparently the park closes at 10pm and the ranger had to run us off! Oh well. Anyway, hubby made the comment "beauty in death" when he saw the shot, so there's the title.
Was so tickled to see one of our 365'ers out there! Turns out we had parked right behind her and her family! How cool was that! It's not often we see people from the real world out here... :-)
Fabulous shot and great story.
I will be a bit limited in commenting on your photos until I am up and running again. Only able to type with one finger at the moment following a wrist fracture and it is slow going.
