Poison Oak

Many of our open spaces have poison oak. The leaves are really quite pretty, but the oil causes allergic reactions in many people. I have been lucky to have never gotten it even when removing it from our backyard at our previous house. Hubby on the other hand can get it from my clothes. So I have to be very careful. When I have had to be in it, I shower with a product called Tecnu and wash my clothes two cycle in it, so Jay doesn’t get it. Tecnu is what the fire fighters use.

A lovely shot! I think I got rid of all the poison oak around here. It's the poison ivy that's hard to get rid of.

@beryl Poison ivy, oak, and sumac all contain an oil called urushiol. It causes a blistery rash on the skin of many people.
