As I walked past this bush with clusters of small white trumpet shaped flowers I could hear the unmistakeable buzz of honeybees busy at work collecting pollen.
I haven't seen any honey bees around here in a long time. Beautiful shot! Happy to see one where you live! Love the softness of this shot and the deep shadows!
Excellent close up Skip....great lighting & detail, especially nice enlarged. I've been wanting to get out and try to get some flower & insect photos but the wind hasn't stopped blowing for over a week so I haven't even bothered to try. Maybe today! :)
@marlboromaam - Thank you for the nice comments Maggie!! Last year a friend pointed out, while we were walking, the complete absence of bees as we passed some very fragrant bushes which normally would have been swarming with bees. He told me he had heard that the bee population was hit by some some type of fungus. As the summer progressed I began to see more bees around, but not like you usually do. This year the clover is up already and you don't see that many bees on it, but there were maybe 5-6 checking out the blossoms on this bush.
@pj - Thank you very much Paula!! It was windy when I took this shot. A lot of my shots were blurred or it was hard to tell in the live screen if they were sharp or not, so I finally changed to shutter priority and used 1/125 shutter speed and got some decent ones.
