Went for a walk down by the lake to see if the water lilies were open, but alas they weren't. Found these Asters in the high grass. I learned today that water lilies are open between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tomorrow is another day!

@jannkc - Thank you Jann!! On my Canon there are 7 picture styles. I had mine set for Standard. But after reading an article I changed it to Faithful which is supposed to render the colors as closely as possible as your eye sees them. I also started shooting in RAW which give more control over the color!

@kwind - Thank you for your kind comment!! I went back out today around 11:00 am and they still weren't open. I have determined that these are the Nuphar lutea, also called Spatterdock variety and they open partially in the morning. So I might need to get out earlier.
