I first though this was a Coreopsis, but through searching my wildflower handbook found out that it wasn't. I took a walk by the reservoir, which is unbelievably low due to the dry summer. I found these wildflowers growing in an area that is normally under water. Doesn't it make you wonder how plant life can be sustained when normally covered by water and then during a dry spell it blossoms? The bee landed just as I snapped the shutter.
@groovygirlrn - Thank you Sheri!! I appreciate your supportive comments!
@myautofocuslife - Thank you Livia!! Nature is just as baffling following a wildfire. After an area is scorched by a fire new plant life begins to grow!
@sassik - Thank you Sassik!! This wildflower was growing in front of an old tree stump that provided the dark background.
