Tonight was light up night. This is one of 80 units that participated in the annual Light Up Night Parade. Even the fire trucks from the local communities were covered in lights. As early as 9:30 this morning the parade route was being lined with all sorts of chairs and blankets to hold spots for the 6:00 pm parade start. Bands from 4 different high schools participated as well as fire companies from 7 communities were represented. As always, it's better if viewed large if you wish; http://media.365project.org/1/3510908_ehqvz35689_o.jpg
@catwhiskers - It was a fun evening, but it was on the nippy side. Thank you for your kind comment Nan!
@kandernob - Thank you very much Karen and thank you for the Fav! I had to turn the ISO all the way up which produced a lot of noise.
@myautofocuslife - Thank you very much Livia!! It was a fun night. My daughter wanted to take my granddaughter to see the parade and see Santa arrive, but she got discouraged when she saw a lot of her friends on Facebook posting about the parade route being lined with chairs so early. As it turned out we got a pretty nice place to watch where the parade route made a left turn so everything went by slowly for the turn and we got to enjoy it more.
Nice shot...I like how they've chosen to do it at night and put lights on so many different things. Glad your grand daughter had a good place to see too. It is difficult if they don't because they are so excited by it all.
@kwind -They are fun and they get people in the mood for the holidays.
@lynnb - Thank you Lynn! She is only 4 and we weren't sure how long she might last before she got bored. But she lasted through the whole parade!
@sparkle- It is fun in some ways. I say that because there aren't any "Big" cities close by so each small town has their own light up night. In some ways it would be nice of they combined them and had one very big light up. But I guess each community wants to keep their own identity.
@sassik - It was fun! But is was a little on the cool side. We weren't sure how long my granddaughter would hold up with her attention span or the cool temperature. It was 5 Celsius.
