The Promise

As the cold sting of winter takes hold there are reminders of the promise that spring is just around the corner. A magnolia bud all wrapped up in its winter coat.

Wow...didn't know they prepared now! Is that because you usually don't get heavy frosts?

@vickisfotos - Thank you Vicki for commenting and the Fav!! I am on a personal mission to be more positive!

@lynnb - We get pretty cold here in the winter. I don't know if the warm weather we've had up until two days ago made the buds a little bigger then they normally would be since I only noticed this bush this spring when the magnolias blossomed and I photographed them.

@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!!

@danette - Thank you Danette!! Actually the photo is SOOC. I thought about changing the color of the bokeh, but nothing made it look and better. The only processing is the frame I put around it using Pic Monkey.

@chrissieh - Thank you Chrissie!!

@mtngal - Thank you Harriet!! It looks like it has a fur coat on. Did you get my question about your extender?

@greyfeather - Thank you GreyFeather!!

@copperheadglass - Thank you very much Meredith!!

@skipt07 I posted several things for you, but didn't really address the issue of light all that well. I had a chance to play with the TC today in overcast conditions, and other than using higher ISO, I got about the same number of keepers. I wasn't all that thrilled with what I took, but that wasn't the fault of my equipment, rather the nut behind the camera (I was shooting metallic objects, so the comment is appropriate). DOF does become more of an issue though.
