My wife and I took a trip to Kent, OH the home of Kent State University, to shop at a locally owned camera shop to look at lenses. Downtown Kent is going through an amazing revitalization of the business area. This is one of the many beautiful buildings, this one being the home of an international business AMETEK.
Nice pov... some nice urban renewal! Hope you found the camera you went shopping for! I wish we had a camera store closer... wanting a new camera, but I really want to hold them and compare!

-Thank you for all the marvelous comments! There aren't many of these kinds of camera stores around any more with the advent of the Internet and big box companies. The owner told us his father started it back in the 70s. There used to be 5 stores like this in the Akron/Kent area but most of them have closed due to the competition of the big stores and when film cameras disappeared and digital cameras came on the scene. I did get a new lens for Father's Day. A Tamron 70mm-200mm 2.8 zoom with a 2x extender. I am going to have to start working out to be able to carry it around! :)
@mittens - Thank you Marilyn! A couple years ago we took a trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky and came across a beautiful business area called Newport on the Levee. It was made up of many small shops and stores built in tiers. Some parts of Kent resemble this style. At first I thought they refaced old building, but it looks like all new construction. If you are ever in the area, by all means stop and look around. There are numerous one of a kind stores and shops.
@paulaw - Thank you Paula! I am really looking forward to getting some wildlife photos. I am in the process of trying to get use to lugging the lens around by shooting more stationary subjects.
