We took our granddaughter to Living Treasures today. It was overcast which made it cooler and the animals were very active. What got our attention about the lioness was her deep roar that reverberated throughout the area.
Wow! Amazing! We are off to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow for their annual Boo at the Zoo...I can only hope to capture a shot of an animal with even just half the intensity! Great shot!
@taffy - Thank you for the "Wow" Taffy. Even though it was the female that was roaring, there is no doudt as to why the lion is called the "King of the Jungle".
@luvmynynix - I hope that you have a wonderful trip to the Zoo and that you get some great opportunities for some awesome shots. I think many zoos have gotten away from the barred cages and have created habitats that are more like the animal's natural surroundings. I shot this through a thick sheet of plexiglass. She was only 25 feet from me on a slab of stone.
@lynnb - Thank you Lynn! I did do some processing. I put my lens right up against the glass to keep from getting any glare, but there was still some tell tail signs. So I did some processing to clean it up and bring out the detail in her fur.
