When we pulled into the driveway we noticed the Cedar Waxwings were feasting on the crab apples. I used the car for a blind so I could be as close as I could.
@mzzhope Ha! I was just about to start with the exact same words! So...here goes... Oh, I LOVE these birds! I don't see as many as I would like. This is surely a fav! Now I can come back to it as often as I want! Beautiful shot!
we get these guys for just a few days when my indian plum would berry out. very pretty shot! great timing with your driving in the driveway so you could use the car for a blind
Great shot .... the crab apples seem small compared to the ones we have here. It's a lovely capture of the birds. Have never seen one of these before. love the DOF
@eyesmile - This is an ornamental flowering crab. We have two, a white one and a red one. That is the color of the blossoms in Spring. The white, which is this one, produces smaller apples then the red one and both are smaller then a wild crabapple.
@kali66@kass- Actually Kass and Kali, I pulled into my driveway and saw them flying into the crab apple tree. So I shut the car off, got into the passenger seat and opened the window. I used the car as a blind. It took them awhile to get accustom to the car being there before they went to the branches closest to the car. I have thought about buying some camo clothing to try and blend in more. But the car worked fine.
