Walking the beaches of the Outer Banks, North Carolina, is one of my favorite experiences in life. The sound of the surf can be so relaxing and the sunsets can be pretty spectacular. All of these pleasurable elements gives you time to relax and reflect on life. Some of those life experiences can be like the waves that keep pounding the shore. They can wear you down or you can learn to ride them for the ride of your life. I was going through some of my old photos of out vacation in 2012 that I haven't posted before and found this. I worked on it in PhotoShop and thought I'd post it.

@maggiemae - The Outer Banks is a unique place in that its a long narrow strip of land surrounded pretty much by ocean and very expensive real estate. I can see why it would be a good setting for novels.

Superb image, Skip! (I love the Outer Banks--haven't been there in years but have great memories of the ocean and beaches). This is so gorgeous it's a FAV!
