Gone Fishin'

What a beautiful day we were blessed with. We went to the cemetery to pay respects to our son-in-law and saw that they hadn't placed a veteran's marker or flag by his grave as yet. So we drove to town to purchase a flag. We saw another veteran's grave who died in 2006 who still didn't have a marker. After visiting the cemetery we drove to the park and one of the first things I saw this man who was enjoying the day and some fishing in Lake Julia.
Great reflection

Oooo what lovely sunny reflections! You must feel content to have purchased a marker for your son-in-law's grave.

@kerristephens - Thank you so much Kerri!

@gilbertwood - Thank you Denise! It is a beautiful park and it being such a beautiful day made it very enjoyable for all who were there.

@quietpurplehaze - Thank you Hazel very much! We were disappointed that a veteran's marker hadn't been placed, but considering how slow most government agencies operate it was surprising. We bought the flag mostly for our daughter whose experience with the Veterans Administration has been awful since his death. Of course we all have seen a lot of what's been going on with the VA in the news lately.

oh, so sad they are so slow in placing the markers!!! My husband's brother who died in Feb has his marker up already! His ashes were scattered, but they placed the marker here at the National Cemetery. My husband's sister's husband is a retired Navy man who works as a volunteer at the cemetery. He took special care of us and made sure the marker was placed before Memorial Day. Too bad all Vets don't get the same attention!!! so sorry.

@vickisfotos - I am not talking about a grave marker. Usually the local Army reserve unit places an aluminum or brass marker and a flag is inserted in it. The marker has what branch and/or conflict they served in.
Considering how screwed up the VA is an even more so under this administration, it's not really surprising. But thank you for your kind thoughts Vicki!
