Clematis by skipt07

Clematis

As I was walking today I saw this clematis growing in the yard near the park. When I finished walking I returned with my camera and tripod to try and get a nice sharp picture with a decent DoF so all the petals were sharp.
Oh gosh, that is so pretty! Fav. Love the colors.

Love the deep burgundy center in this and the puckered texture you've captured in the petals.

Ah, looking at your thumbnails there is a predominance of purple and yellow. Did you plan that.

@kwind - We planted a clematis at the side of our house a number of years ago. It is pink and white. It hasn't been doing so well the last couple of years http://365project.org/skipt07/365/2012-05-12

@eyesmile - You are very kind Gena! Thank you too for your fav!

@princessliz - Thank you very much Joan for your fav! It's even harder to get it all sharp when you don't close down the aperture like I didn't do. I had taken some pictures of toadstools just before I did this and shut my aperture to f/8. but for some reason it got opened up to 5.6. I don't remember doing it, but the exif shows 5.6. While I have taken shots using 5.6 and gotten great results it didn't happen here.
