If one were to just walk by these pods without a second glance, the details would be missed, but take a picture and then study it and you notice the vein patterns and artful construction of these pods, not to mention that it appears they may have begun to open at the bottom and drop their treasures on the ground for next year's growing season.
@lyndemc - That is what came to my mind today as I was walking and later taking pictures. I saw a dandelion and knelt down to do a macro. For years as a kid we picked these and snapped the heads off at other people, and held them up to our throats to see if we "liked butter". But I never took the time to really look at them until today when I realized they have somewhat of a serrated edge on the end of their petals. Photography has made me stop and smell the roses!
