This is a beautifully restored railroad car on the Strausburg Railroad that we had a chance to ride. It is pulled by an old steam engine. The ride is short but enjoyable. The 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, twice road on these tracks.

@maggiemae - I am not sure if they played a recording during the ride or if someone was doing a live commentary about the train, the area we were travelling through and some historical facts. I believe she said it costs about $250,000 USD, $319.750 NZD, to restore a car like this.
@judithdeacon - Oh yes. The regular seats that you would find in a train were replaced with 14, seven on each side, single swiveling stuffed chairs allowing you to swivel and look at both windows. I will post a picture in my Potpourri album
@joansmor - Thank you Joan! I love trains too! These trains are from an era that seemed more care free. You could ride a train and enjoy the beautiful countryside on a leisurely trip. Now, everybody want to hurry up and get where they are going missing most of what they pass by on their way getting there.
@danette - If you ever get the chance to come back and you have some free time, you definitely have to take in a show and train ride.

@seattlite - Thank you Gloria for your kind words and fav!
@tabarlett - Very cool. It is amazing that we live in the same state and yet there are so many differences. We loved our time there!
@snoopybooboo - Thank you Tony!
