Bell Spire Reflection

I noticed the reflection of the bell spire at the San Juan Capistrano Mission in the koi pond. I'm trying to understand the nuances of photographing water reflections better. I'm unsure if this is a good shot. Comments/critiques welcome.

I like the picture of the pond and lily. The reflection in this case feels almost as clutter in the picture ,to me.

I love reflections, great subject! Here though, I think the reflection competes with the red flower. I think you could have gotten a more balanced composition by moving slightly, to put the reflection and the red flower on opposite sides of the image. The lily pads do make it a little busy.

@tigerdreamer I think I agree with you Karen. When I first saw the image the reflection was separated from the flower, and I'm not sure what drove me to join them. Looking back on it I would have separated them and maybe gotten some of the lily pads out to make it less busy. Another opportunity will present itself within the year!
