..or she will die. Well, not really, but I always liked the song. Happy to report that this egret is happily alive and well. And I'm also happy to report that I have a newly cleaned sensor!
Great composition particularly like how you positioned the Branch diagonal in the shot and ask the bird to stand majestically in the foreground, its in great detail and a beautiful image Ron, (after your spot problem checked my gear, sensor and lenes fine filters filthy.
Such an elegant bird. How do they stay so clean in all that mud and water?!! I was about to ask how you managed to get so close but then checked to see what lens you used. 300mm does the trick very nicely.
That was a pathetic font I chose for 'Macro March'. Even I had to squint to read it and I knew what it said. Should've changed it. And you're welcome for the flowers. Thanks for letting me borrow them back to finish out Macro Marob with.
@terryliv Yes, Terry, I was feeling a bit left out of the competition, and thus was forced to seek a feathered model. It's tough trying to keep up around this place!
@pcoulson Yes, Peter, the bird was quite helpful in composing the shot. She even arranged the grass to line up with her body too. As with most models, though, she was a tad temperamental and stormed off not long after the shoot.
@lyndemc Yeah, a 300 mm lens is almost like cheating. They do let you get fairly close sometimes, and when they take off, it's like a Saturn V lifting off. I've often wondered myself how they stay so bright and white. Seems whenever I see one, they're hanging out in a grimy old pond. Maybe that's because I spend most of my time hanging out in grimy old ponds. Must change my surroundings sometime soon.
