You really caught the power of the ocean in this shot. Like all the repeating elements of the pier and the god rays backlighting the spray is very appealing.
@graemestevens@dianeburns@terryliv@jin1x@winshez@grahambudd Shucks, thanks for the comments friends. Truth be told I was unaware that the rays of light would come through so prominently. I was actually concentrating more on trying to capture the exploding waves. Once I put the shot on the computer I was quite pleased to see the sun rays adding to the whole thing. Sometimes I just feel like the shots I get are dumb luck. But I'll take it!
@stray_shooter Isn't it funny Ron sometimes we get so intent on what we are looking for in a shot that we miss was ends up being the best of it. That has happened to me quite a lot. You load it onto the laptop and get a lovely surprise.
@dianeburns It's actually part of the fun when you think about it. When I shot film the anticipation of hoping you got a good shot was a bit exciting. When I decided to go digital I thought that would be lost, but it really hasn't. And the waiting period is much reduced! @graemestevens I'll go with that, Graeme - thanks for a great tip!
Check it out, you can see water droplets clear up under the pier as the sun streams through. Love those rays of sunlight. I'm envious of this capture. I'm a long ways from the ocean.
@lyndemc Thanks for that pep talk! I think I got the one big wave. There was a few of us shooting down there - seems some of us didn't realize what a rising tide is. No, not me, but someone's tripod and topsiders got a little damp!
