Twirling Water Fountain by stray_shooter

Twirling Water Fountain

I posted a picture of this fountain earlier, but the content was completely different. I liked the way the water stream picked up the blue color from water in the basin.
In a colder clime, that might be ice! What fun that you can take this a myriad of ways on a warm California afternoon! Nice going!

PS...noticed the camera you used... I'm open for any tips...the Fuji went back (WAY TOO touchy...drove me nuts...short trip!) This FZ70 is laid out a lot like my small Nikon and I think I'll love it! Having trouble with the RAW images not opening in PS, but no matter...just took pix around the yard this evening. Think I found "The One" this time!

Showing your artistic side Ron? And I hadn't noticed the blue reflections until you pointed them out. Nice shot

Nice capture. Looks like glass, or perhaps an ice sculpture.

Great freeze motion Ron. The reflections in the water are outstanding.

What a great twirl in the water. Even the drops are suspended.

Great action shot, the water does look quite blue. Good one.

Fantastic shot Ron How on earth did you manage this degree of sharpness focusing on moving water, looks like a glass sculpture, love the depth of field and blur in the background Fav:)

@Weezilou @gilbertwood @terryliv @wordpixman @pjtphoto @888rachel @dianeburns Thanks to you all for the kind comments. I enjoy observing this fountain, but as is so often the case when taking photos you see so many things that differ from the naked eye. One of the things I really enjoy about photography!

@pcoulson Practice, my friend, practice! ;-) I can assure you that there are plenty of duds that did not focus quite so well. I have to give considerable credit to the Lumix FZ200, which continues to amaze with the abilities that it has. Thanks much indeed for the generous compliments Peter.

@stray_shooter

I call my camera "my third eye" because I see more, more clearly, when it's in my hand, but always remember that it's not the camera that makes a picture, but the mind behind the finger on the button. Timing is key. In single shot plate camera days we used to call it "the decisive moment" but there's no shame in using modern technology to produce a range of images from which only the mind has the capacity to chose which is best

@wordpixman You're very kind Arthur. I shall keep your words of wisdom in mind. Single shot plate cameras? Wow, that's going back a bit!
