In Austin Texas, there is a bridge under which a little over one million bats hang out (pun intended). Every evening at dusk between March and November they depart and head out for dinner. People come out both one and below the bridge to witness the flight of the bats. It's quite a sight to see.
Hi, Ron. I've heard of that but not seen it. Thanks for sharing. My daughter just flew back from Austin today. You working now or travelling? Take care of yourself.
Actually the bats fly out each evening to see why all the people are hanging over the edge of the bridge and lining the river bank. They all reckon it is a really funny sight
Nice Shot of the Austin skyline :) Great perspective.
The bats are not may favorite thing about living here but it is an interesting sight to see. Thanks for sharing your adventure!!
The Congress Ave Bridge is the place to be in Austin! You haven't lived till you've seen the bats! Austin's motto is "Keep Austin Weird", after all. That's a beautiful photograph of the Austin skyline. This is a huge fav for me.
Bats are so very necessary to our environment, and I think they're quite wonderful! What a sight this must have been to see! A wonderfully unique sight to share!
@aglennc@joysfocus@summerfield How's this for a late reply?!? Things got very busy for me in the midst of this motorcycle adventure and I had to go underground for a while. But I'm back as of the first of the year - armed with a new camera even! Missed you all and many thanks for your concerns.
@stray_shooter Ron, so GLAD you're back....Missed you. Sounds like your bike trip was interesting. Enjoyed the photos you posted. Things about the same here.... We'll have to get another photo shoot outing going after the first of the year..........Great fun and camaraderie!!
