I hadn't had popovers since I was a kid when my mother would bake them as a special treat and Louise was kind enough to post the recipe. I decided to give it a try and this was the result. (Full disclosure - they really weren't on fire. But the photo was so mundane that it needed a little dressing up, which I did using some Topaz effect). Yeah, it's fake - and I'm OK with that. Maybe I should enter it in the ETSOOI challenge.
@Weezilou Didn't eat them all in one sitting. Ate half of them, and ate the other half as microwave warm ups - which weren't bad. They were a bit different from Mom's - hers were a little lighter, but these were every bit as tasty. Thanks for allowing me to revive some tremendous memories while enjoying a tasty treat!
@salza They're basically a dinner roll, but with a whole lot more flavor. And as I discovered they can also serve as a stand-alone meal. They can also be served as a desert too. They're tasty and versatile! Thanks for checking in Sally.
Oh, this ETSOOI popover dish is utterly fabulous! And we know you didn't get hurt eating it because two are gone and you are still writing to us. :) CREative!
