Wade In The Water by stray_shooter

Wade In The Water

I had to dip into the archives for today's post as I spent the entire day watching the NFL Divisional Championships. This shot was taken last summer during a visit to Dana Point by the tall ships, an annual celebration that features vintage sailing ships, recreations of pirate sieges, and more seagoing costumes than I ever imagined could exist in one place. It was like seagoing version of Comic Con. I felt like I was the only one not in costume. Oddly I was one of the few with a DSLR, which I took advantage of when I spotted this Monet-like opportunity. The original wasn't that exciting, but a little Topaz application and I had something worth salvaging.
Sounds like a great event at Dana Point. Hope you enjoyed your football today. That Eagle game seemed like a real dud. But I enjoyed today's photo so much that I went out and downloaded Topaz. Now, I just have to take the time to learn how to use it, like every other piece of software, I still have to fully learn. But thanks for sharing your secrets. Fav, btw.

Oh this is really quite nice! The costumes are amazing. Love your processing. The Tom and Bill show was something to behold. The Vikings, not so much.

@mbrutus Thanks Marshall. Glad to know that you will be treating us to some Topaz magic soon. Sorry for costing you that coin though!

@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann. You cannot believe some of the costumes that were there. Some were very elaborate. I'm still a bit dumbfounded by it all. I appreciate your input.

@pcoulson Thank you as always Peter. And your observations are spot on. I did indeed add a little graduated filter in Lightroom. The water was some shade of blue at the top, but I thought I'd enhance it just a bit - I kind of favor blue it seems. ;)

@summerfield I thought I did some time travel too when I was immersed into this world of which I was previously unaware! Next time I'll give you fair warning and you better be there! Thanks for the nice words!

@dianen Thanks Diane. Glad to see that I had company on Sunday in front of the TV. However......Fly Eagles, Fly!! ;)

@777margo Thanks Margo. Trust me, it was really mundane in its original form. Topaz can really work some magic sometimes. I take no credit. ;)

@cjphoto Thanks very much Chris. Fun with processing. ;)

@stray_shooter Unfortunately, I tried to download the free version first. And at the very end of the install, it said my computer didn't meet the requirements without saying what was lacking. Tried at least twice. So I might not be Topazing any time soon. I'll just have to admire your stuff with envy.
