Well, that didn't take long. Day 2 of 2019 and I'm already reaching into my inventory of photos past. But it is one of my favorites from the past summer. I had the opportunity to take a golf excursion to Ireland and Northern Ireland this past June, and one of the accommodations that housed us was the Slieve Donard hotel in Newcastle, Northern Ireland. It's a spectacular place that exceeds the qualities of not only the Motel 6, but also the Comfort Inn. The golf course adjoining the hotel, Royal County Down, is often rated the number one golf course in the world by various golf publications. It was cool, but I'm not sure I'd rate it best in the world. That could be a reflection of the way I played that day.
Impressive. You've made this place really shine! (I confess to laughing about dipping into the archives on the second day back. Confession: I did the same thing, only I think it was on the third day back.)
Welcome back! Looking forward to seeing more great pics like this and reading more of your witty narratives.
This is really nice - the golden glow of the manor and the brooding sky behind. Has a fairy tale look to it.
Nicely done and a FAV!
What a stunning result of your photographic and editing skill Ron, in photography like golf timing is key, could you not have waited for the van to clear the car park, (only kidding its a great image)
@Weezilou You may be the only one who appreciates acerbic wit, and that's just fine with me! Looking forward to getting with you guys soon. Hope the grandkids didn't end up as dinner for hippos and lions.
@lyndemc Thanks Denise. Nice to know that I have some company in my inability to get out there and capture/shoot on a timely basis. Happy to report that I did get out this evening and was richly rewarded, the results of which you and other followers will be treated to a little later, because of course it's Flamingo Friday as I write this. Thanks for the feedback!
@pcoulson Ha ha, yeah, I have to admit to being a bit disappointed at seeing headlights coming my way. At least we know it's a real shot! Thanks for your kind words Peter.
@imnorman Thanks Ian. I'm always happy when I see clouds when I'm shooting. I know that with a little processing that they'll add some drama to the shot. Particularly in this case. 'Preciate the comments.
@kklinck99gmailcom It seems that there are more than a few of us who have "cheated" in our endeavor to take a photo a day. Good intentions, but not realistic to those of us that have other craziness going on in our daily lives. Thanks for the follow!
