Left Turn Now!!! by stray_shooter

Left Turn Now!!!

I caught these surfers taking advantage of the waves produced as a result of the presence of some offshore rocks. The only problem with that is you are surfing among rocks. I'm happy to report that no surfers were hurt in the making of this photograph.
Fantastic capture! Love the action (and danger when knowing everything went well) in the foreground and the stillness of the water in the background. Fav

Good heavens this looks treacherous, we only have sharks in our waters

Wowee! Awesome capture, though.

Fantastic action shot! They must be nuts to surf in that area!
Your capture is perfect and takes my breath away when I saw how close he was to the rock. Love the green of the wave.
A FAV!

That is crazy! But makes for an amazing shot!

Little too close for comfort! Yikes!

@lenanau Thanks so much Lena. Good to hear from you.

@onewing Ha! That made me laugh. We've got sharks too, but nobody's been eaten in a least 6 months. Probably the biggest danger is the seals and sea lions that regard surfers as playmates. Very startling.

@kali66 It was just as close as it appears, but these guys were good enough to avoid collisions with little effort.....at least as far as I saw.
January 23rd, 2019
@gilbertwood Thanks Denise - yep, Bab's reply cracked me up too.
January 23rd, 2019
@imnorman Thank you very much my friend.
January 23rd, 2019
@yorkshirekiwi Thanks so much Carole. The water's not always that colorful, but a slight boost in the processing brought it out a little more than what it appears by the human eye. Had to do it. ;)

@pcoulson Thanks for the nice words Peter - and for the comment on the watermark. I had avoided watermarking my photos for a long time, but then found out that a travel website was using one of my photos - without my consent, of course. So I was kind of forced into it. I was searching for a while for something that worked and settled on this. Your approval confirms my thoughts to go with it!

@dianen I'd be scared too! Thanks Diane.

@domenicododaro Surfers are not generally known for their powers of great logic. Insane? A true possibility. Thanks for stopping by to view and comment. :)

@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann. 'preciate the comments.
January 23rd, 2019
@farmreporter Thanks Wendy. Yeah, probably not the safest place to surf - but good waves!
January 23rd, 2019
@joysfocus Thanks Joy. I have to admit to boosting the colors a bit, but not too much! I was pleased to see the green emerge.
January 23rd, 2019
@mwhipple From one action fan to another, thank you!
January 23rd, 2019
@taffy Thanks so much Taffy. Gotta love action shots, right?
January 23rd, 2019
@leonbuys83 Thanks Leon. Definitely not the safest place to go surfing. These guys knew what they were doing though.

@maggiemae Wow, now that's a real compliment! Funny, I was talking with a fellow student in one of my classes and she was telling me about the prints that she had sold at one of the big summer festivals here. She's always ooo'd and aww'd at some of the photos that I've presented in class saying how she envied my shots and how little she knows about operating the camera. Made me think I might be missing out on an opportunity. :(

@kklinck Thanks Kate, crazy and good shots often go well together it seems. ;-)

@gardenfolk Ha ha, don't worry, the dudes were good and avoided calamity nicely. Thanks for stopping by!

An exquisite photo...but still I find myself thinking, "Holy Crap!"
January 23rd, 2019
that looks dangerous -- seems like that guy is going to hit that big rock. glad no one got hurt. great timing on this shot, ron. aces!
January 23rd, 2019
@stray_shooter That's exactly why I put may name on all the images I post, a photo print company used three of my shot on their web site I found out by chance looking for a print company to produce some competition prints, they removed them straight away:)
