Apologies for the extended absence. It seems that I contracted a bit of an infection last month that forced me to turn my attention to things not related to photography. But I'm back to full health now and back to capturing images, including some from a recent visit to San Diego Safari Park where the periodic Butterfly Jungle is open. I always find this to be a challenge as butterflies are so hard to grab clearly. Add in the lack of real bright light, the speed with which they move, and the shallow depth of field necessitated in trying to catch them in flight, and you've got a recipe for a whole lot of crappy images. This is one that I did manage to succeed on. A few more will follow in the next few days (sorry!), some of them with the quick little dudes in flight.
Sorry to hear you have been poorly and good to hear you are on the mend. Well done I chased butterflies around the butterfly house when we were in Coffs Harbour and discovered how hard they were to photograph. I have to fav this beauty
Superbly captured in fine detail and colour Ron plus its beautifully presented, nice to hear you are now fit and well I look foreword to seeing more of your fine images:)
@onewing Thanks Babs - especially for the fav! I hope you managed to get a few good butterfly shots. The difficulty makes the reward just that much sweeter!
@gilbertwood Thank you kindly Denise! I am feeling 100% now, and I am happy to inform you that while visiting the Butterfly Jungle I also took some time out to run over and grab a few.....well maybe a few hundred....flamingo shots. More to come for sure!
I'd wondered where you'd gone and glad to know you're back in full health! And this was a great one to kick off your contributing again. I've sort of run out of flamingo shots, sadly...next ones will have to be the zoo, I guess.
@taffy Oh no, a flamingo shortage?!? I'll have to run back through your posts that I missed. I know it'll be worth the effort. Thanks for the nice words, and I'm quite happy to be back snapping shots and posting again.
