Back to the back yard, among the roses, and I come across this little guy. I don't know anything about bugs, but I'm guessing he's not going to enhance my rose much. I decided to exhale on him in hopes of giving him COVID-19. Cheaper than calling pest control.
Beautiful detail colour and composition, I have only just noticed you are using the new Sony 7RM4 camera, I'm still undecided on the m3 or m4 will be getting one or the other later this year I would be interested to hear your comment Ron after you have mastered yours:)
@taffy Thanks Taffy - credit for clarity goes to the new baby, Sony A7 RIV, amazing resolution. The shot is actually cropped! I think I'm gonna like this new tool. ;-)
@onewing I hid the hole in the petal, which is on the other side. I checked today and it looks like the rose has been through a typhoon. The bug doesn't seem to have moved though.
@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann. I suspect that I'm one of those who actually had the virus back in January. Was afflicted with a cough that I could not kick for a long time, but once the weather warmed it went away. I've heard estimates that up to half of Californians may have had it. Who knows? The bug was still there today, for what it's worth
@pcoulson Thanks, Peter. You're the only one who seems to have noticed the new toy - congrats! Since you asked, here are my first impressions. A huge leap over the RII. Focus is quicker (much quicker), more options as far as customization goes, and it just feels much better in my hands. I have large hands and the A7 RII is just a bit small for me, especially when I'm trying to make adjustments on the fly while viewing through the viewfinder (I'm a big viewfinder guy, much more so than using the monitor). Focus details are high on my list of priorities, and this one has a massive increase in focus points, and the focus area options are greater. And I really love the joystick on the back side of the camera, as it really gives me great flexibility in moving the focus point around easily without taking my eye from the viewfinder. The touch screen is, IMO, pretty much useless, compared to my D850, at least. If I utilized the back screen more in the photo taking process, maybe I'd feel differently, as it does allow you to point and focus, but that's about it. There's no pinch/pull ability. The 61 megapixels is nice, but not a deal killer, IMO. If you're really, really cropping, though, it might be a factor. But for printing 8 X 10's or posting on 365, there's really no discernible difference. Either the III or the IV will be a great step up from the II, but whether it's worth the extra money to go for the IV is a matter of priorities to you, IMO. The details in focus ability and the feel of the camera, and admittedly the higher resolution, were enough to sway me. Now I just have to hope that buyer's remorse doesn't kick in!
@stray_shooter Many thanks for your opinion on the the mark four Ron its very much appreciated, will consider both options when the time comes, as for printing I do print at 18x14ins for my competion work and submit much larger for digital projected image compotitions, but have never had a problem with the mark two in this regard, just want to upgrade as the three and four have more good features that I would find useful:)
