microtunneling by summerfield

microtunneling

microtunneling is a remotely-controlled, guided, pipe-jacking operation that provides continuous support to the excavation face by applying mechanical or fluid pressure to balance groundwater and earth pressures. this is part of a microtunneling equipment. found this along the industrial area near the marina, a property next to a condemned industrial complex. must go back.

the self-imposed challenge of "industrial" continues this week, so there won't be much of a colourful or sweetheart photos in this album.

industrial is defined as "anything having to do with the business of manufacturing products; but not utility, transportation, and financial companies."

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
When I first saw this on my feed, I only saw the very top; just to the lower portion of the horizontal angle iron, and it look like it could be a couple of 'tin men' wearing sunglasses. Good find and capture.

This is all very interesting but what I really want to know is how do you get all the information. To you stop and ask people on the job site?

That condemned industrial complex sounds like a treasure trove of photographic opportunities....is it just condemned to disintegrate, or do they have plans to implode the buildings and develop them for a more lucrative use?!
