part of the Shell oil refinery in Sarnia, Ontario. the st. clair river is to the right. a long stretch of the road is owned by shell on both sides, with huge pipes running through underground.
final photo for the self-imposed challenge of 'industrial'. thank you, @bill_fe bill, for joining me in this incredibly difficult challenge.
i'm wondering what i will do for august. maybe use the 28mm for two to three weeks? or the 50mm? just macros? portraits?
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Cool composition with the 3 towers / chimneys perfectly placed. I have been thinking about challenging myself this month as I have little motivation to pick up the camera at the moment. I have no idea what subject to choose. Abstract was something that sprang to mind. Have also thought about doing something like the one night stand that Jerry used to host.
@salza - i, too, was thinking of a one night stand. i just wrote a comment on jerry's album to tell him we want it and if he can't do it, i can do it for him. if he doesn't reply i will start one next week.
This is a spectacular finish for your industrial month! It is a terrific subject in the processing really makes those stacks stand out! The total composition is terrific!
You did great with this very difficult self-imposed challenge, and this was a nice way to finish it!! I once saw a museum exhibit by a photographer who documented the wastelands created by the industrial "progress" in China! It was intense....ONS would be nice right now!
