i will admit, i struggled with this challenge. my partner nadiya @olenadole asked me to do a "Comparison" - comparing ideas completely opposite things. Photograph objects, people, nature, animals. Show what they have in common, different, similar, compare, draw a parallel.
i was stumped, but as i have been taking photos of the highway almost everyday from my living room window, i figured this is a good way to show case the view i get from my vantage point. it may not be fulfilling the challenge per se, but it is what it is.
the bottom landscape shot was taken in late april for the 52-week challenge of urban landscape, a composite of 3 images stitched using ICE. the trees were still bare and there were shadows as the landscape was shot in the early morning on a clear day. the photos were shot using my nikon D5300.
the top landscape is a composite of 3 shots taken early this week, before the rains came which in fact made the scene more colourful, and stitched in ICE. this was taken at mid-afternoon when it was partially cloudy, but clear from the south side so that the whole scenario took on a different character with that lighting coming from the left. the photo were taken using my canon D60.
This is very interesting to me. I really like that you used two cameras. I have never been successful at stitching and have not used Ice so will be reading up on that. Fascinating post. Fav
@catsmeowb - ICE is a Microsoft program i forgot what the letters stand for but i think it's image composite editor. i might be wrong but i will let you know tonight when i'm on my laptop. it's very easy, you just need to upload your images, and the instructions are at the top of the screen.
Superb comparison. I find the colour of the sky so different every season - and the similarities and differences in the seasons so obvious here.
Excellent response to the challenge!
I not only like the comparison of different times of day and seasons but also in which camera was used. Boy there is a definite color difference between Nikon and Canon. Something I'd heard about but didn't think was real until I saw these! Well done Vikki!
Excellent response to the challenge!
