the nose knows

Olfaction, also known as olfactics, is the sense of smell. This sense is mediated by specialized sensory cells of the nasal cavity of vertebrates, which can be considered analogous to sensory cells of the antennae of invertebrates. - wikipedia.org

an old photo as my nose is not the greatest to take a photo of for today. my skin is flaky and red from too much noseblowing and wiping, got very sensitive i have to use some kind of ointment. i've just been to the doctor's and was told that i have bronchial infection almost on the verge of becoming pneumonia. last night i had a fever of 101. i was wondering why i was still alive as i know 42 is already bad or teetering on bad. then i noticed the darn thermometre was in fahrenheit. bloody heck! it was a good thing i soaked it first in alcohol before putting it in my mouth. it must've belonged to ex-partner's mother. then there was another thermometre, the one i used to always use. and it was 40, celcius. now that was more like it.

so meds were upped; i have antibiotics, and a cough suppressant with some kind of codeine and they had to look at my ID. my cough is such that my back aches every time.

this is the state of our healthcare. they have to wait until you're on the verge of dying to prescribe some kind of medication that would actually help improve your condition.

that's my bitching for today. and there goes my "mini vacation", instead of doing something essential or productive (like sorting out my boxes), i have to "take it easy and rest". but maybe that is not a bad thing.

if you are so inclined, go on over to @fiveplustwo and check out our 'perspective' photos; you might want to put in an entry or two, hey?
ugh! so sorry to hear you are still under the weather... glad that you finally have some meds - hope they kick in soon! this is a very elegant shot, btw!
