"Touch, or somatosensory, is a perception resulting from activation of neural receptors, generally in the skin including hair follicles and a variety of pressure receptors respond to variations in pressure (firm, brushing, sustained, etc.).
The somatosensory system is a diverse sensory system that is spread through all major parts of our body. At its simplest, the system works when activity in a sensory receptor is triggered by a specific stimulus (such as heat); this signal eventually passes to an area in the brain uniquely attributed to that area on the body and this allows the processed stimulus to be felt at the correct location." - from 7senses.org.au
just so you know, i tried to 'clean' my glass but halfway through, i realized they were the sparkly things on my blouse. that's what the meds do to one's brain and perception (aside from making me throw up the whole day).
for the song title challenge and the faceless portrait challenge.
Another fine rendition of the senses. And just so you know I did not think the glass was dirty even before I read your explanation. So sorry the medication is not improving your situation- hope it passes soon!
I think the sense of touch is very underestimated. With it we come into direct contact with the world. We also say that something touches us, when something moves, when a deep feeling comes over us.
