it seems i can "draw". i just don't know if my drawing is worse than my painting. my shoulders hurt from drawing those two figures and my brain hurts from thinking about shading and colours mixing. i must admit it was fine until i came to the lower part of the painting. it seems my depth of field is non-existent. but i'm mighty proud i drew a dog. it looks like a dog, doesn't it? doesn't it?
i started on the upper part on friday night. the middle on saturday night. the bottom part on sunday night. and the figures of the dog and girl tonight. that's why i haven't any offering by way of photo but this.
it's a good thing i'm not planning on doing this for money. i'd be shooing flies!
my office mates would see this tomorrow during our zoom meeting. they asked me last week what i'm going to do with these paintings. i replied by asking for their addresses and they stared at the screen with eyes wide and mouths open! 😂 🤣
Your painting is very fine, and your drawing is very fine also. Have faith in yourself (I should take this advice too).
Yes, the grassy path looks a bit flat, but hey, it is your painting and you do whatever you wish on your canvas. I like how the grasses stand out in the foreground. I like the simplicity of the figures which makes them stand out against that glorious detailed sky with its equally detailed reflection.
You wouldn't be shoeing flies for too long. (I like this saying).
@bubblequeen - haha! i have so many ideas of things i can't do even if my life depended on it. this is my problem with painting, people expect that i would be able to draw or incorporate people in my paintings. i don't really know how to draw.
This is lovely. I really like the interaction between the girl and her dog.
You seem to be coming to grips with your fear/uncertainty of dogs. It warms my heart seeing that.
