i was bored to death today, didn't have any motivation to paint. the two projects i'm working on didn't result in what i have in mind so i gessoed the heck out of both and started over. and now i don't want to continue them. so i went for a walk as the sun was shining brightly and cold enough so not a lot of people were around and about. and i found these on the fence of one of the highrises in the neighbourhood. what are they?
It is an interesting find! I think you have enough possible explanations above for me not to put my two cents worth in! It does make for a great photo though!
I had fully intended to paint yesterday myself, but got hit with the same apathy you had apparently. I ended up not even touching a brush and taking a nap instead! Maybe next week
Thanks for joining in Vikki. We call these key safes. You punch in your code, push the top button and it unlocks to give you access to the key stored inside.
intriguing - they certainly look like padlocks. But Merrelyn's explanation makes perfect sense and explains why they are all so close together. Sorry you had an uninspired day with the painting. Don't give up - tomorrow is a new day.
It is a curiosity. They aren't regular locks like people put on bridges in Europe. Merrelyn's thought is interesting. They do look like the locks on houses for sale so the realtor can get in to show them.
