just because everyone else has daffordils and tulips and snowdrops and crocuses coming out of their woodworks doesn't mean we here in toronto are late. spring of course doesn't officially start until a few days from now, but our surroundings are starting to wake up and the usual spring suspects are just emerging. we are "on time", not late, not early, just on time.
this was taken around the church from the other day. one of the ladies told me this would be snowdrops but we'll see on saturday if that's true. i reckon saturday or sunday because today we had a very warm day, the sweater only kind of day, even with the strong winds it was still warm. then just after five we had a storm, the rain just poured straight down like buckets of water, and as suddenly as it started, it also ended. i went to have a shower and when i came out, the sky was blood red, the heavy grey clouds an amazing magenta. and i must admit, i just stared in awe and forgot to take a photo. it's one of those times when you just have to enjoy the view and not bother with the camera at all.
so hopefully, the weather on the weekend is again great and i can walk around the church and see what beauties these are.

WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS! i don't know how it happened, but it seems i'm running three challenges.
Lovely POV in this shot. My tulip magnolia has flower buds, it was just planted last year and I was afraid our bitter cold storm might have killed it. Canât wait to see what these green leaves will become!
My poor garden doesn't know what time of year it is because I noticed that some of my bulbs had sprouted. They're either snow drops or jonquils and they certainly shouldn't be poking their heads up yet !
Looks like Daffodils to me, but time will tell. I love seeing those first shoots of green pushing their way up through the dirt. Maybe ours are not too far behind...
