bb: and who is this?

me: if you weren't so skinny mini, you'd also be in a can like your cousin.

bb: why is he in a can?

me: because he's ready to be eaten.

bb: by who? ...uh-oh, you humans eat bamboo? you're mean!

me: bamboo shoots are actually tasty and nutritious.

bb: bamboo shoots? you mean baby bamboo? are you a vampire or something?

me: of course not, i'm vegetarian. but think about it, kiddo. that could've been you. now, excuse me while i stew some bamboo shoots.

looking for something in the cupboard, i found this can of bamboo shoot. i see stir fry in the menu one of these days.
