my sister and i ended up around the provincial legislature building yesterday. there were the usual people looking for a fabulous background for their selfies. we saw this couple from way back. she would focus her cellphone on her man who patiently stood there, then she pressed the self timer and off she ran to be with him in the photo. the problem was that the phone was not so secured in that post and by the time she reached him, the phone fell off. this happened quite a few times and the phone must've taken a good beating. i'd have offered to take their photos, but they had moved on by the time we reached the front of the building.
good thing i have a stash of photos for the next few days. it has been raining since last night. despite that, i still went on my morning walk and by the time i got back, i was soaking wet and cold. now i have a slight headache which i hope won't warp into something worse; i am expected to report to the office tomorrow.
finally, after having moved here in canada since 33 years ago, i've been called to report for jury selection next month. i hope i get selected and the case something exciting. whereas everyone i know had said they hate jury duty, i've been looking forward to it. although i don't think i stand a chance to be picked as i work in a law firm; apparently, that is a disadvantage.
Great story, poor phone! I have been called twice for jury service at The Old Bailey in London but was unable to attend on either occasion. Not sure what I would make of it really. Interesting that working in a law firm would put you at a disadvantage.
It's a beautiful building. I love all of the decorative detail. I'm Aussie born and bred and I'm very relieved that I have never been called for jury duty.
I do like to read your stories. And I like to see the beautiful stone work in this building. I've been called a number of times, once to federal court. I was glad to be released from that one because it is in a town some 55 or so miles from here and lasts for a year. Never served on a jury, but made it as far as the examination. Let go because I was a nurse and there was a injury involved.
